  • Wagman Completes Bridge in North Carolina

    In May, Wagman began work on the Walter B. Jones Bridge project on US 264 over the Intracoastal Waterway, in Hyde County, North Carolina. Wagman’s project involved removing the top 1.25 inches of existing concrete from the deck by means of scarification and hydro-demolition, and replacing it with a Latex Modified Concrete overlay. During this project, Wagman was also responsible for maintenance and protection of traffic, milling and replacement of asphalt approaches, installing elastomeric concrete and joint seals, grooving bridge deck and installing pavement markings. Wagman had 45 calendar days to complete the project.
  • Latex Mixer Operators Maintain Safety Record

    The Wagman Concrete Group’s Latex Division provides Latex Modified Concrete for a variety of different contractors in several different markets and states in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Wagman’s seven Latex Mixer Operators have the resilient attitude to get the job done safely and provide a quality product to our clients, even in the most adverse conditions and working environments. This group of individuals have performed their jobs safely without injury for two years and counting. They are the epitome of what Wagman represents by tackling difficult jobs and schedules, providing a safe working environment and producing a quality product and value to our customers.
  • Wagman Concrete Group Expands to Louisiana

    In February, Wagman travelled to New Roads and St. Francisville, Louisiana to furnish and install a Latex Modified Concrete overlay on the John James Audubon Bridge. Wagman is working for the Joint Venture team of Flatiron Construction, Granite Construction and Parsons Transportation Group. Wagman is providing the necessary equipment and skilled labor to install 1,384 CY of LMC.
  • Wagman Completes Girard Point and Broad Street Projects

    In 2010, Wagman teamed with Buckley & Company to complete two projects on I-95 in downtown Philadelphia, PA. On the heavily-travelled Broad Street project, 1,676 CY of Rapid Set Latex Modified Concrete was poured. On the Girard Street Bridge, Wagman and Buckley placed 3,339 CY of Latex Modified Concrete in one full season- a job that was scheduled to take two construction seasons.
  • Wagman Invests in Two New Mixer Units to Upgrade Fleet

    With the increased demands on equipment, Wagman replaced two older mixer units with new Zimmerman mixer units. The two new units upgrade the fleet so that Wagman now has nine mixer trucks equipped with the latest technology in mobile mixers.
  • Wagman Adds Low Emission Mixer Truck to Concrete Fleet

    The newest latex truck in the fleet, a 2010 Kenworth, with a Zimmerman mixer unit is equipped with the latest in green emissions technology and meets the EPA’s 2010 Emission Regulations. At the heart of this technology is the engine which treats the exhaust and converts it into Nitrogen gas and water vapor. The truck also features an automatic transmission that will increase fuel efficiency and reduce driver fatigue.
  • Wagman Concrete Group Completes Route 40 Emergency Repair in
    North Carolina

    In late October 2009, a rockslide near Waynesville, North Carolina shut down portions of Route 40. Under an emergency contract, Wagman quickly responded during the off season to supply Rapid Set Latex Modified Concrete to the local construction company, Taylor and Murphy Construction Company, Inc. Additional steps were taken by both the general contractor and Wagman to produce RSLMC during the winter months.
  • Dave Baker Promoted to Superintendent of Wagman Concrete Group

    Dave Baker, who has been with Wagman for 29 years, has been promoted to Superintendent. Dave now handles the scheduling of the mixer drivers, ordering of materials, and equipment maintenance as well as job representation for Wagman.
